Hi to all the mini analysis program users! This newsletter informs the users of Mini Analysis Program about the updates and changes in the program. 1. The recently released version 3.0 is gaining enthusiastic support from most of the users who had a chance to try this version. The features are; --Fully functional windows program. Easy to learn and easy to use. Extremely sensitive detection algorithm - can detect 3pA peaks with 5 pA noise. --Visual representation of detected peaks helps to quickly review the minis to either reject or add easily. --Calculates all the statistical parameters of the detected peaks (average, standard deviation, standard error, mean frequency, etc.) --Quickly plots all the possible plots you can think of indivisually or in one page (time frequency, amplitude frequency, cummunlative amplitude, risetime frequency, etc..) --Events are stored in a separate file, which is linked to the DAT file - file size is extremely small (1000 events < 50 kb) --Grouping of events let you analyse separately according to certain criteria. --Traces for detected peaks can be grouped and averaged and fitted for exponential function. --All the plots, traces, and data can be copied into clipboard for easy import and export to other programs like Excel or Sigma Plot or Origin. --Batch analysis lets you acquire data today, analyse overnight, and look at the results next morning. --Fully network compatible - can analyse data over the windows workgroup network. --Powerful statistical functions (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, paired t-test, f-test, linear regression, etc.) Unfortunately, version 3.0 is still not available for 16 bit version. So those who still have windows 3.1 or 3.11 running need to wail a little longer for the release of 16 bit version. 2. More recently plotting functions added many more available plots. The following is the current list of plots available in the Plot menu; Amplitude Frequency Histogram Time Frequency Histogram Rise -time Frequency Histogram Decay-time Frequency Histogram Area Frequency Histogram Noise Frequncy Histogram Inter-event Frequency Histogram Accumulative Amplitude Histogram Accumulative Rise-time Histogram Accumulative Decay-time Histogram Accumulative Area Histogram Accumulative Inter-event Interval Hist. Amplitude vs. Time Rise-time vs. Time Decay-time vs. Time Area vs. Time Amplitude vs. Rise-time Amplitude vs. Decay-time Amplitude vs. Area Plot All in a Page 3. Now abf files with abf extension (generated by Axoscope, and pClamp7) can be seen from the file list box and directly open from the list by clicking. 4. Future additions include, double peak detection, better interface for curve fitting, fully editable graphs and more. *****Mini Analysis Program is a product of joint effort by all the users.
