Release of ABF Utility program With the release of ABF Utility program, now users of Pulse and/or Igor, which are popular Mac programs, can analyze Igor binary files with the Mini Analysis Program. The ABF Utility program directly converts Igor binary files to ABF (axon binary file) formats. It's simple- to-use features let users to convert many Igor binary files with a click of mouse button. ABF Utility program can also convert data file formats such as John Dempster's CDR data files, ELSAA data files, and some of other proprietary axobasic data files. If you have your own proprietary data file that you would like to convert, feel free to contact us. We are commited to expand this utility to many data file formats, so that any data file can be analyzed using the Mini Analysis Program. Another very useful feature of ABF Utility program is the ability to merge multiple ABF files to make one long data file. This feature is very useful if you have multiple files with each file representing different recording conditions, and you would like to show the results of whole sequence in one plot. Multiple plots in the graph window It used to be that you could only show one plot at a time. You can now generate, display, and compare many different plots in the graph window. In the short future, the graph will improve its printing features, such that users will be able to print multiple plots in a page with full customizable options. 3. Fixed the problem of freezing during detection Some investigators experienced an occasional "Run time error: Overflow" with a certain data files. It turned out that this problem resulted during the calculation of Noise when the Noise point falls at a large, saturating peak. This problem has been resolved. If you are experiencing this run time error, please contact us to get the update. 4. User friendly, customizable plots Right now the plots that the program generates are pretty much inert. We are planning to add user definable features of the plots. 5. Export to origin Origin uses some weird way of copying data. Right now, data that are copied by Mini Analysis Program can be pasted from Excel and Sigma Plot with no problem. But from Origin, the data get lost. We will investigate this further. 6. Faster exponential fitting The current exponential fitting is slower than it should be. This will be improved by eliminating some unnecessary steps and fining tuning the algorithm. *****Mini Analysis Program is a product of joint effort by all the users.
